2ND PETER 2:2

 “As new borne babes desire the sincere milke of the word, that ye may grow thereby,”

 “If they sinne against thee, ( for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliuer them to the enemy, so that they cary them away captiues, vnto the land of the enemy, farre or neere;

47 Yet if they shall bethinke themselues, in the land whither they were caried captiues, and repent, and make supplication vnto thee in the land of them that caried them captiues, saying, Wee haue sinned, and haue done peruersly, we haue committed wickednes;

48 And so returne vnto thee with all their heart, and with all their soule, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captiue, and pray vnto thee toward their land, which thou gauest vnto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I haue built for thy Name:

49 Then heare thou their prayer and their supplication in heauen thy dwelling place, and mainteine their cause,”

MERCY- DEFINED

a :  compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one's power;also :  lenient or compassionate treatment <begged for mercy>b :  imprisonment rather than death imposed as penalty for first-degree murder

2 a :  a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion

ISAIAH 14:1(THE MOST HIGH WILL CHOOSE ISRAEL AND SHOW HIS MERCY TO US)

 “For the Lord wil haue mercie on Iacob, and wil yet choose Israel, and set them in their owne land: and the strangers shalbe ioyned with them, and they shal cleaue to the house of Iacob.”

BEN SIRACH 36:12(OUR FOREFATHER PRAYING FOR MERCY ON ISRAEL)

 “O Lord haue mercie vpon the people, that is called by thy name, and vpon Israel, whom thou hast named thy first borne.”

COLOSSIANS 3:12(IMPORTANT ATTRIBUTES TO HAVE AS A REPENTANT ISRAELITE)

ISAIAH 45:4(THE PRECEPT THAT MENTION ISRAEL AS TMH GODS ELECT)

“For Iacob my seruants sake, and Israel mine elect, I haue euen called thee by thy name: I haue surnamed thee, though thou hast not knowen me.”

BACK TO COLOSSIANS 3:12-14(THE APOSTLE IS TEACHING US IN THE SPIRIT THAT WE MUST HAVE THESE ATTRIBUTES TO BE ONE WITH THE MOST HIGH)

BEN SIRACH 18:20(YOU MUST EXAMINE YOURSELF AND REPENT AND YOU SHALL FIND MERCY)

 “Before iudgement examine thy selfe, and in the day of visitation thou shalt find mercy.”

BEN SIRACH 29:8(WE MUST HAVE PATIENCE AND MERCY ON OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE IN A POOR OR LOW ESTATE)

“Yet haue thou patience with a man in poore estate, and delay not to shew him mercy.”

BEN SIRACH 35:20(MERCY IS MUCH NEEDED IN TIMES OF AFFLICTION)

“Mercie is seasonable in the time of affliction, as cloudes of raine in the time of drought.”

LUKE 6:36(MERCY IS AN ATTRIBUTE THAT OUR FATHER HAS AND THAT WE ALSO MUST HAVE)

 “Be ye therefore mercifull, as your Father also is mercifull.”

MATTHEW 5:7(THOSE OF ISRAEL WHO HAVE BEEN MERCIFUL WILL INDEED RECEIVE MERCY FROM THE FATHER)

 “Blessed are the mercifull: for they shall obtaine mercie.”

MATTHEW 9:10-13

"And it came to passe, as Iesus sate at meate in the house, behold, many publicanes and sinners, came and sate downe with him and his Disciples.

11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said vnto his disciples, Why eateth your master with publicanes & sinners.

12 But when Iesus heard that, hee said vnto them, They that be whole neede not a Physicion, but they that are sicke.

13 But goe ye and learne what that meaneth, I will haue mercy and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

JAMES 2:10-16(OUR FOREFATHER IS LETTING US KNOW THAT WE MUST KEEP THE WHOLE LAW AND IN THE SAME SHOW MERCY AND COMPASSION ON OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE FAITH)

“For whosoeuer shall keepe the whole Law, & yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11 For he that said, Doe not commit adultery; sayd also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressour of the Law.

12 So speake ye, and so doe, as they that shall bee iudged by the Law of libertie.

13 For he shall haue iudgement without mercie, that hath shewed no mercy, & mercie reioyceth against iudgement.

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say hee hath faith, and haue not workes? can faith saue him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of dayly foode,

16 And one of you say vnto them, Depart in peace, be you warmed & filled: notwithstanding ye giue them not those things which are needfull to the body: what doth it profit?”
